Shipping Policies: "normal delivery"

  • Continental US: UPS ground service = 1-5 business days depending on your distance from our location
  • Alaska, Hawaii, US Protectorates, APO, FPO: We use Priority Mail Insured - 2-8 business days
  • For International and Canadian Orders: International and Canadian orders are shipped via the U.S. postal services' Air Parcel Post or Global Priority Mail, depending on the size and weight of the package. Shipping charges are based upon the weight of the package. When we receive your order we will figure the cost of shipping and inform you of these charges via email. As soon as you reply to us approving these charges, we will ship your package. Typical delivery time is 4-10 business days.
  • Expedited delivery within the US: if you require expedited delivery of your online order, indicate your requirements in the notes field while ordering, a separate e-mail to us, and we will research the fastest method for the least cost to you, and will add that amount to your order. Remember that books are heavy, and all shipping charges are based on weight and distance. If we determine that the shipping charges are very high in comparison to the cost of the book, we will send you a courtesy e-mail advising you of the cost, and asking you to authorize the charges before we ship. Within the US we have overnight, two-day, and three-day service available at varying rates.
  • Expedited delivery to countries outside the US: we will research the most economical method and advise you of the options and prices by e-mail.


How to Find a Product: You can search three different ways, by title, by author, or by product number.

Returns Policy: books are returnable within 30-days of delivery. IF they are in pristine, resellable condition. Please call us or e-mail us before returning any item so that we can advise you of appropriate shipping instructions and give you an authorization number. This will insure that the return is handled rapidly and efficiently. Due to our suppliers' policies, videos and software are not returnable, so please select carefully.

Shipping Damage: if your parcel is damaged upon receipt, please call us immediately so that we can ship a replacement. We'll handle any claim with the carrier.

Defective Books: whenever a product is defective, we will replace it immediately, no questions asked. The 30-day policy does NOT apply to defective products. If you've been making notes and highlighting a textbook, we'll even ship the replacement ahead of time so that you can transfer all of your notes and highlighting before sending the defective item back in the packaging that we will provide for you. If the publisher (or video or software producer) is no longer in business, we will not be able to replace defective items.

Sending a Gift: If you live in Connecticut and want to send a gift to someone in Alaska (for example), we will handle it. We will even gift-wrap it and send a card. Just indicate this fact in a separate e-mail. Birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, graduations, holidays, you name it, you give us the separate shipping location and name of the gift recipient in that separate e-mail, and we'll handle it for you.

Renting the mailing list: We evaluate all requests and rent our mailing list to only reputable companies who are directly related to emergency services. This extra revenue will help to keep prices the lowest you'll find anywhere. If you do not want us to rent your name, please ask us to put "No Rent" in your customer record.
