Kerins works a paid EMS job in New Jersey, and to further prove that he's half crazy, he also volunteers as an EMT in his community. This book is like a pocket pal full of war stories and urban legends and almost-truths and slight exaggerations, but they're universal stories. Just because these happen in New Jersey doesn't mean that an EMT in rural Montana, busy LA, or laid-back Colorado Springs wouldn't encounter many of the same patients and develop the same weird (sick) sense of humor. From the chapter called Random Thoughts: "The Rule of Doctors on Scene: The person on scene who identifies himself as a doctor is either a proctologist, an ophthalmologist, or something of absolutely no use to you." From the Glossary: "Code Brown = a warning that feces are present on the patient or in the scene." There's plenty more. Enjoy!
